A mock, magazine advertisement for a randomly assigned brand, with a randomly assigned image created for a course taken at the Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago.
This project had each participant assigned with a randomly selected brand and/or product, and a randomly assigned image that needed to be featured prominently in the result.
When assigned the Elmer's Glue brand and the image of a praying mantis, my thought process led me to arrive at the headline "Patience is a virtue, but it's not required." This phrase nods to both the still and stoic nature of the mantis, while alluding to the fast-drying formula of Elmer's Glue. In this ad, I convey the message that you need not be perfectly still, or even be particularly patient, because Elmer's Glue dries quickly enough for patience to be unnecessary.
